With the arrival of the 21st century the city of the "Lazzaroni" (rogues), the ex capital of the Bourbon Kingdom, country of Lauro and Masaniello, of Mario Merola and Posse, of square feasts and Bagnoli Festival, resembles a comedy of Pirandello: "Uno, nessuno e centomila". Within it, many different cultures have lived together for centuries. One can easily pass from melody to techno-punk, from song-writer singers to Afro-american jazz, as this was the umbilicus of the world: a bowl of dissatisfactions and sounds, a bowl of emotions. From here the necessity to found LORO DI NAPOLI, a mesh of musical genres, such as rock, folk, ethnic, melodic; a blend of Neapolitan tradition and vanguard. LORO DI NAPOLI, an oblique and oscillating title, indicates both graciosity and community spirit. It is a true cultural movement, but above all, it aspires to be, with a sort of implicit, caring irony, a moment of aggregation for these artists since the Neapolitan'provenance doesn't guarantee alignments at all, instead, it is a fan of overwhelming free thoughts about music, rhythm of communication and sense of harmonic and non harmonic language.

LORO DI NAPOLI, specializes in live musical productions and in cultural projects. We can remember only some of them, such as: "Clamor et Gaudium", a moving performance through cathedrals which combines sacred and profane passages; "Storia, preghiere e canti del 1799", by Director De Simone, that, for the first time, open the doors of San Carlo Theatre to Loro di Napoli; and,in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the show"La voce del Grano", which assembles all ethnic cultures in South-western Italy.

LORO DI NAPOLI collaborates with the Ministry of Culture, the Foreign Office,Regione Campania, the Province of Naples, and the Municipality of Naples.It has also collaborated with the Italian Cultural Institutes of Madrid, Sofia, Casablanca, Rabat, Salonicco, Athens, Belgrade, Ankara, Cairo, Addis Abeba, the Dante Alighieri Society in Casablanca and with the House of Commerce of Hong Kong. It has currently founded the CCP (Centro Cultura Popolare), in order to diffuse throughout the world, the importance of local folk cultures.
